The certificate requirements incorporate many courses already required for the three majors.  To receive the certificate, students must complete the following four sets of requirements.

 or   Physics 475 and 476 Honors Intro to Physics (4 cr each)

Chemistry 110 and 120  General Chemistry(4 cr each)

 or   Chemistry 960 and 970 Chemistry for Engineers (3 cr each)

Math 220, 230, 240, and 250 (4 cr each)

Chemistry Photonics Option requirements: regular required courses Chemistry 1140, Chem 1440, and senior science elective are waived.  Phys 1361 (optics lab), Chem 1470 (Photonics 1), and Chem 1472 (Photonics 2)  are required, plus one of the following three courses: Phys 1351 (electricity and magnetism), EE 1247 (semiconductors), or EE 1232 (lasers and optronics).
