The Physics Minor
Introductory physics sequence:
- Physics 0174 (4 cr.) Basic Physics for Science and Engineering I
- Physics 0175 (4 cr.) Basic Physics for Science and Engineering II
The "old" Physics 0104-0105-0106 sequence will also be accepted.
Alternatively, students could take the honors version of these courses:
- Physics 0475 (4 cr.) UHC Introductory Physics for Science and Engineering I
- Physics 0476 (4 cr.) UHC Introductory Physics for Science and Engineering II
Laboratory Experience:
- Physics 0219 (2 cr.) Basic Laboratory Physics for Science and Engineering UHC Modern Physics Measurements
The requirement of Physics 0219 would be waived for students who took Physics 0577 or Physics 0520 (4 cr.)
Modern Physics Sequence:
- Physics 0480 (3 cr.) Principles of Modern Physics I
- Physics 0481 (3 cr.) Principles of Modern Physics II
Co- and Pre-requisites:
The same co- and pre-requisites as those for the major will apply to the Physics Minor.
In particular, the introductory physics sequence has a co-requisite of
Math 0220, 0230. Physics 0219 has the co-requisite of Physics 0175 (or
0476); Physics 0480 has the pre-requisites of Physics 0175 (or 0476) and
Math 0240; and Physics 0481 has the pre-requisite of Physics 0480.
The Physics Minor program consists of 16 credits.
