Liu is working in the frontier of cold-atom physics. More specifically, he will work on Fermionic superfluidity in ultracold atoms. There has been a flurry of activities in this emerging field and the expectation has been high because new physics is likely to be discovered when matters are pushed to such an extreme limit.
