The recently remodeled Optics Lab has ten workstations, each with its own variable light source, curtains, and breadboard surface to assure better results. The labs' equipment has also improved; new 10mW lasers are availaible and most equipment now has a magnetic bases, making the lab setup easier to use. Several new advanced experiments have also been acquired, including the new 50mW infrared laser. Students can expect to complete labs on geometrical optics and physical optics, with subjects like lens systems, two slit interference, polarization, interferometry, diffraction, and more. |
