Keep Things Clear

Use headings and subheadings that have meaning and will help you to locate topics at a later time.

Clearly Label Examples

Make sure to write down all parts of sample problems including pictures--this way it will make sense to you when you review your notes.

Important Ideas

Use a special symbol such as an asterisk * to label an idea that is extremely important--such as one the professor repeats several times.

Keep Things Spread Out

Cluttered notes are often frustrating to read and interpret.

Write Down Everything

It is always better to write down a concept and never use it than to need it later and not have it.
