WIYN 3.5m WHIRC Observing Report for 2012/11/25 Summary: Excellent seeing. The connection was slow on my end but did not cause too much trouble thanks to Jenny. She kept an eye on the focus and helped load the dither scripts which was a tremendous help! There was also some confusion on which computer I would be observing from. The wrong IP address was listed for me but we were able to get in touch with Heidi and she explained to Jenny over the phone how to edit my IP address. Observed std. star P525-E and P161-D at three different airmasses, 11SN and 1 host galaxy. I made the decision not to observe LSQ12fhs at the beginning of the night so that we could observe 2012go instead. I probably should have tried to squeeze it in as I had about an hour left at the end of the night. So I ended the night with observing the host of PTF11owc in H. Observe: Anja Weyant Telescope Operator: Jenny Power Conditions: Clear/light cirrus Moon almost full Notes: There is a weird grid pattern showing up in the detector when taking darks or flats with the lamp off. It does not show up in any science images but I took a series of darks at the end of the night that we can use to take the signal out. Because of the light cirrus we may not be photometric but I observed the std. stars anyway. This cleared up by the middle of the night so some of the later observations should be photometric. I used the 5x5grid_15arcsec.obs, 4x4grid_20arcsec.obs and 3x3grid_30arcsec.obs. For 2012go I forgot to change the target name. It says P525-E.
