WIYN 3.5m WHIRC Observing Report for 2013/03/26 Summary: We observed 3 supernovae and 1 standard star before closing the dome due to threatening clouds. Here is a summary of observations this semester: Name | z | B-Peak | 20130321 | 20130326 | SNhunt175 |0.0409 | 20130318 | xx,50,xx | xx,xx,xx | PSNJ083745+492832 |0.06 | 20130323 | xx,xx,xx | 25,41,xx | CSS:082848+293031 |0.08 | 20130319 | xx,xx,xx | 41,41,xx | CSS:092354+385837 |0.05 | 20130310 | xx,xx,xx | xx,25,xx | Observer: Anja Weyant Telescope Operator: Malanka Conditions: wind: 18.6mph Humidity: 29% Temperature: 17.4 C Beginning to middle of the night: light cirrus to thick cirrus around midnight Middle to end: Heavy cloud cover Moon: 100% illumination Notes: We had some instrument trouble in the beginning of the night but it was sorted out before twilight. The Voltages OK button in the WHIRC biasing detector window was red. Restarting the PAN and dust did not seem to fix this problem. Eventually Bill Ball?, Dick Joyce, and Jenny worked to solve the problem. Some of the fibers were dirty and the connections between the computers and WHIRC were not complete. We did not lose any observing time due to this problem. We were able to observe until midnight before the cloud cover became too thick to see through. We closed the dome due to threatening clouds around 1am.
