WIYN 3.5m WHIRC Observing Report for 2013/04/20 Summary: We observed 8 supernovae and 1 standard star. Here is a summary of observations: Name | z | B-Peak | 20130420 2013ar | 0.06 | 20130323 | 25,25,xx CSS130317:082848+293031 | 0.08 | 20130319 | 41,36,xx CSS130218:092354+385837 | 0.05 | 20130310 | xx,41,xx CSS130415:130408+435408 | 0.06 | 20130424 | 25,25,xx CSS130415:131729+424430 | 0.036 | 20130411 | 09,16,xx PSNJ14211513+6134159 | 0.0364 | 20130426 | 16,16,xx PSNJ17172203+4104002 | 0.0276 | 20130421 | 09,16,xx SNhunt175 | 0.0409 | 20130318 | 20,16,xx P212-C in JHKs at 1.02, 1.2, and 1.5 airmasses Observer: Anja Weyant Telescope Operator: Karen Conditions: wind: 2.9 mph Humidity: 20.8 Temperature: 20.5 C Light bands of cirrus drifting by but mostly clear Seeing: 0.5-0.7" for most of the night. Seeing around 1" in the morning. Moon: 76% Notes: Previous observer was worried about a "Herringbone" pattern. I have seen this before in my darks. It does not seem to impact our science images. We should check this again in case it is getting worse. It is clearly visible in the flats taken from this night. In the middle of the J dither for 2013ar we had to pause the script for the unwrap. Probably two images are no good. Also, I hit "Observe" and not "resume script" so there are a few images where it did not dither before I realized that I needed to hit resume script. Lost guide star in the middle of 3x3x30" dither in H for CSS130317:082848+293031 (image 197).At the beginning of the 5x5x15" dither in J the target seemed to be about an arcmin toofar E. Probably related to losing guide star. We moved the telescope 60" w to compensate. Target may be a bit off-center. Had to pause script a few times for the unwrap. Did not have any trouble restarting script. Took 520 images.
