For calibrations, their speaker wasn't working so they could not hear me, but I could hear them. Something in WHIRC is heating up. When we biased the detector the heating control powered off or something! I noticed when I turned on the detector the voltages went in the red. I alerted Malanka but she couldn't find the cause so we updated voltages and it said it was fine. So I biased the detector. I started by taking a flat with the high lamp on at 425 to take a flat. It got stuck at the DHE portion of preparing the image. There were a lot of errors popping up in PAN. Malanka asked me to shut everything down. I tried to unbias the detector but it said that it could not while it was taking a picture. So we tried to "unload script" though we had none loaded and we tried restarting MOOP on the camera control window. It appeared that the detector had unbiased. I tried to power off the detector and it told me that it was still exposing and could not power the detector off, but Malanka said the detector was off. So I when to the MOP control and clicked file and exit and I stopped PAN. We started PAN again with only a minor error so I tried starting MOP again but It said I was still exposing. Malanka told me to wait and then I heard a beep and she said there was a big problem and a part of WHIRC was over heating. So she called for help. What I over heard: it was over heating and once that was fixed, it started over cooling. eventually it was sorted out. Started working again around 9:30 EST. but did testing then the other guys took over. 3:30: restarting everything. There are no stars so I am trying to watch the galaxy to see if it starts being too smudgey. I was unsure waht to do! Malanka said that 60 seconds isn't too long of an exposure.
