Second half of the night

When I tried to start my half of the night,  Christian and I could not type on the screen, but we could still use the mouse. We spent ~20 minutes trying to figure out 
how to fix it when it started working again. It stopped working one other time but only for a minute. No clear reason for it or solution.

Tried to use WTTM but were unable to find appropriate guide stars.
