WIYN 3.5m WHIRC plus HexPak Observing Report for 2015/11/16 Summary: We observed 8 host galaxies and 2 standard stars with HexPak and no observations with WHIRC. Hiltner 600 in one small and one large fiber. Prop ID: 2015B-0347 Observer: Kara Ponder, Michael Wood-Vasey Telescope Operator: Doug Williams, OS: Di Harmer Conditions: Clear wind: 10 mph Humidity: 60-70 % Temperature: -2.2 C Seeing: ~1.5-2" (estimated from OA) Moon: 28% Notes: This was our first night on the IFU HexPak to gather spectra of our host galaxies! We had a rocky start but things settled down after the first target. We saw the H-alpha line on our first target and adjusted exposure times accordingly and were able to get many more galaxies than we had estimated. Primary mirror was not operational so we could not use WHIRC. Notes on how the information was recorded in summary: The HexPak time exposed is listed in minutes to be in agreement with how WHIRC exposure time is recorded. If there are two values, then the first value is the exposure time with the position of the supernova in a specific fiber, and the second one has placed the fibers on the host galaxy that may or may not include the area around the supernova.
